Bastien Burlot is objectively one of today’s most promising young French luthiers. Having been his guitar teacher at the Paris Conservatory for two years and having had the opportunity to carry around two of his instruments for a good dozen recitals in Europe and the US, I am capable of saying that he possesses the qualities that make him one of the luthiers that we will soon have to count on, on the international level.

His instruments are actually the result of a double reflection, from a very good musician (a notable advantage, if there are any in the world of luthiers) and from an intelligent, sensitive, innovative artisan. Perfectly balanced, his guitars also present some complementary qualities, the first of these being the splendid definition of notes associated with a constant richness in timbre. Personally, it is what I have always priviledged in my “quest”, as a soloist as well as composer, far from this frantic research for power, an outdated concept that, I believe, already belongs to the past. A guitar is a guitar and it is definitely its virtues in color, timbre, and balance that make its strength.

Is it necessary to say that Bastien Burlot has already been including perfectly all that in the making of his beautiful guitars for a long time ?

I love BB !
